The Varukers - Hole In The Wall June 11, 2009
For a Hole in The Wall weeknight show, the number of support bands seemed right for this one with just the two, Malparido and Adam Smith Assasination. Both support bands were new to me. Malparido played a quick set of super-fast unmelodic hardcore. I think they played about ten songs in less than five minutes.

Adam Smith Assassination had more of a melodic 80's Californian punk feel. I think they played a few covers from that era.

After a short break The Varukers took the stage and ripped through their set playing a mixture of old and new material. The older material included stuff like "Soldier Boy" and "I Don't Wanna Be A Victim". The thirty years of being together makes for one tight unit. Though I doubt their present drummer was alive when they formed.

Thug Murder
If you've visited this blog recently you've probably noticed or even clicked the Peacedogman power trio graphic and maybe read the feature. On a trio related note, f you searched the blog for BB Bomb you'd find a Taiwanese female punk trio. BB Bomb namecheck Japanese streetpunk female trio Thug Murder. I read they sound like the Dropkick Murphys but I don't hear that although I only owned a DKM CD for about a week, so what would I know? The album's called "The thirteenth round" and it's their third album which makes as much sense as lyrics like "Bare ones. Real Ones."

Top 10 downloads
I was curious as to which albums are being downloaded from this blog a lot. Here are the filthy leeching habits of the visitors to this blog semi-exposed.
1) Boss Hogg - Boss Hogg
2) Dead Milkmen - Soul Rotation
3) Big Drill Car - Batch
4) Cows- Sorry In Pig Minor
5) All - Pummel
6) Number Girl - Sappukei
7) Senseless Things = The First of Too Many
8) Smoking Popes - Born To Quit
9) Sloppy Seconds - More Trouble Than They're Worth
10)Beowulf - 2 cents
Leatherface's BBC sessions would be no. 3 but I decided not to list that recording as it's not really an album. The popularity of the Dead Milkmen album surprised me as there doesn't seem to be a lot of love for that album due to the band slipping further away from punk. Nonetheless,it's a great album The popularity of Number Girl took me by surprise but that's only because I don't really like them.
