Some of you are probably aware of The Dirty Projectors reworking of a Black Flag album and others of The Queers cover of The Ramones album "Rocket to Russia". Covering an album that declares that you are the other band is the sort of legend that band's like Negativland are made of. Clawhammer are not Negativland and they're not Devo despite recording their own version of Devo's fine debut.

it's a good thing that the Our Band Could Be Your LIfe Anniversary show will be in NYC while I am in Italy, because what Dirty Projectors did to Damaged as dreadful. Other than lyrics there is not on ounce of Black Flag in that album. Hopefully Clawhammer doesn't do the same to Devo.
It's amazing to think that this reworking is 20 years old. Curious as to what you thought, RInjo Njori!
